BioFresh is an EUF7 biodiversity informatics project that is assembling a federated network of interoperable freshwater databases and a data portal to enable new forms of scientific analysis and a stronger evidence base for policy. The project integrates the freshwater biodiversity competencies and expertise of 19 research institutions across Europe.

Researchers at the Biodiversity Institute are developing a climate vulnerability index for freshwater ecosystems and leading the dissemination and communicate work package. Our approach to the latter combines experimentation with innovative art-science collaborations (see the video “Water Lives…” below), engagement with new media (see http://biofreshblog.com/) along with traditional forms of science communication such as policy briefs, articles and events.
