Nature-based Solutions and their socioeconomic benefits in Peru

Within the framework of the project “Positioning the Evidence of the Potential of Nature-based Solutions for Economic Recovery,” led by our partner in Peru, The Mountain Institute, a report on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and their socio-economic benefits was published last December.

This document presents the findings of a study conducted in 2021 and 2022 on the potential of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to contribute to post-pandemic recovery in Peru. It represents an initial endeavour to consolidate evidence from practical experiences regarding the socio-economic benefits of NbS within a post-pandemic context and their role in fostering sustainable and resilient development in our country. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive review of the existing empirical literature on the socio-economic and environmental advantages of various NbS initiatives, both on the international and national fronts.
